Body work

After the dismantling the repair of the body defects was on. Except for some minor damages the body was in a good condition. The corrosion of the trunk floor characterising the Mopars because of the fuel tank position appeared here. For replacing the corroded floor plate we made a plate identical to the factory one. We removed the drills of the side decoration and replaced the drills of the leather roof’s edging. For the performing of the perfect body work we place the empty structure to our revolving stand prepared by us, with special consoles that can be fitted according to the type. The body-size precision during the rotation is being assured with a 12-point column support.

Surface treatment

Cleaning down to the pure metal. The slightly corroded body did not require a full sandblasting for performing the metal works therefore it was performed before the panting process on our rotisserie – with a high-performance equipment. We had to remove the thick bitumen that stuck onto the car throughout the years working manually for several days before performing the sandblasting.

Chassis protection

The polishing works are preceded by the full surface treatment of the chassis section. On the lower area of the car we use materials that differ from the body’s other areas, therefore it is indispensable to unmask the other parts. There is a two-component multi-layer Epoxi being applied on the clean metal surface. This is being built into the metal, with a good sticking capacity, it is an excellent water-tight and anti-corrosion material. The hard surface – for the extra protection of the sheet-adjustment edges – is being coupled with a special flexible automotive sealing material. The last layer of the surface-protection is a two-component flexible, water-tight cover resisting to mechanical shocks. The full chassis protection established this way provides a long-term corrosion-free guarantee, it provides a rich appearance and the car can be used regardless the weather conditions. If requested separately the lower section can be painted the same colour as the body, with a flexible resisting cover or with a polishing identical with that of the body, for exposition purposes, polished for show quality.

Body painting

After the priming the next varnishing phases were on. After applying the 8-layer structure we blew 2 layers of lacquer established by our recipe, matching the golden base colour, having a good scratch-proof capacity and UV protection effect and shine. In a few-days’ – but not final – curing state he entire body was refined manually for several days in several phases then polished. With the meticulous polishing we aimed at a flat shiny surface that accentuates the perfect shape of the classical cars and by satisfying the highest requirements it harmonises with the level of the cars leaving our workshop.

Upholstery

We replace the green interior with black according to the owner’s needs. Instead of the factory’s fake leather covers we placed original leather. Besides the seats and the side-upholstery the whole board, the mid-console and the steering wheel also got a leather cover. The black leather interior will be in strong harmony with the black vinyl roof characterising the car’s exterior.

Assembling

The 383 Magnum – besides the full engine repair – went through a basic performance increase. We built in forged flat top pistons, a 256/268 camshaft, specially adjusted moly rings. The cylinder heads, the carburettor and all the elements of the engine area were renovated one by one. The A-727 was fully renovated. The elements of the front and rear suspension as well as the brake system were fully rebuilt. The original parts were cleaned with sand blasting then they obtained an Epoxi priming and a two-component surface protection. A certain area got a galvanic cover after the sand blasting and refineing. In the suspensions all the ball joints, bushings, moving and supporting elements were replaced with new ones. The steel brake and fuel lines were refolded, and new fittings were turned. The flexible brake hoses were replaced, the master cylinder, the calipers and the rear drums were renovated
