Robert asked us to procure his childhood dream, a Dodge Charger from 1970 which is a good starting point to deliver a perfect, original car after restoration.
Regarding the selection we were free so that it is a Big Block unit. But due to the Dukes of Hazzard remake film which was on the Cinemas it was not easy to come across a Charger in proper state. After some searching we found this 383 Magnum car that used to be shed for 10 years according to the ad. Even Robert liked it, therefore we bought it and transported it to Europe.
We found the car in a Californian ad. We had to choose based on pictures therefore – based on our experience – we analysed the tiniest details searching for signs that talk about the deviation from the manufacturer’s state or major defects. We did not discover serious things. It is possibly caused by the fact that the car had three owners only. The first time it was a gentleman who bought it to his wife who died a few years later and the car got back to be on sale. In 1974 it found a new home at a family. The husband used it until the early eighties then he gave it to his wife who took take care of it. The lady was open to share all the information about the car’s history. Now she is here to monitor her favourite car’s revival. She says the Charger is a woman’s car – we agree :)
